Suspect Charged in Shooting Death of Diquane McLamb

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – Detectives with the FPD’s Homicide Unit have identified and charged a suspect in connection with the shooting death of Diquane McLamb that occurred on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 in the parking lot of 816 S. Reilly Road.  The suspect has been identified as Jamarqus Deonte Hurley (B/M, 20 years of age), who has been charged with 1st Degree Murder and Shooting Into an Occupied Vehicle.  

Detectives are actively looking for Hurley and are seeking the public’s assistance.  Hurley should be considered armed and dangerous.

Update to Homicide Investigation

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – Detectives with the FPD’s Homicide Unit have identified the victim from the fatal shooting earlier this morning as Diquane McLamb (B/M, 20 years of age) of the 6500 block of Jeffrey Drive.

 

Detectives are actively investigating the fatal shooting and are requesting anyone with information to contact them.

Homicide Investigation

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – On Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at approximately 4:20 am, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to a report of shots fired in the area of 816 S. Reilly Road.  The first officers to arrive on scene discovered that the driver of a vehicle in the parking lot of Discount Tobacco had been shot.

 

The preliminary investigation revealed that an unknown suspect walked up to the vehicle and shot the driver while he sat inside of the car.  There were two (2) additional passengers in the vehicle with the victim; however neither subject was injured during the shooting.

 

The victim was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased as a result of his injuries. 

 

Detectives with the FPD’s Homicide Unit are actively investigating the shooting and are requesting anyone with information, to contact them.  Additional information will be released as it becomes available.  The name of the victim is currently being withheld, until detectives can contact his immediate family members.
