(Fayetteville, NC) – On Friday, November 10, 2017 at approximately 11:50 pm, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Speedway convenience store located at 4650 Raeford Road.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect walked into the business and made a cup of coffee.  The suspect then approached the counter assumingly to make a purchase of the beverage.  When the register opened, the suspect demanded the money from the clerk on duty.  When the clerk did not comply immediately and the register closed, the suspect reached across the counter and punched the clerk in her chest.  The suspect then proceeded around the counter, produced a knife and obtained an undetermined amount of the money from the cash register.  The suspect then fled on foot from the business.

The suspect was described as a Black Male, 25 to 35 years of age, 5’06 to 5’07 in height and had a scruffy beard.  The suspect was described to have worn a black canvass style jacket with a hood, a red shirt, light in color denim pants or sweatpants, black shoes and a black toboggan.
