Homicide Investigation - Crime of the Week

 

(Fayetteville, NC) - Detectives with the FPD’s Homicide Unit continue to investigate the murder of 27 year old Calvin Louis Blackshire Jr, which occurred at the Motel 6 located at 2076 Cedar Creek Road during the late evening hours of Thursday, January 19, 2017. Detectives are requesting anyone with information concerning the Homicide of Calvin Blackshire  to come forward with information.

Detectives are encouraging anyone who was in the area of Cedar Creek Road at the time of the incident and may have witnessed anything to please come forward with information and speak with Homicide Detective J.T. Hall  at (910) 729-2934.

Fayetteville / Cumberland County Crimestoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest.

Detectives with the FPD’s Homicide Unit are actively investigating the homicide and additional information will be released as it becomes available.

Update to Shooting at Motel 6

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – Detectives with the FPD have identified the shooting victim from Motel 6 during the late evening hours of Thursday, January 19, 2017 as Calvin Louis Blackshire Jr. (B/M, 27 years of age) of Hope Mills.

 

During the early morning hours of Friday, January 20, 2017, Calvin Blackshire died as a result of injuries sustained during the shooting.  Detectives with the FPD’s Homicide Unit are actively investigating the shooting death and are requesting anyone with information to contact them.

 

Additional information will be released as it becomes available.

Shooting at Motel 6

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – On Thursday, January 19, 2017 at approximately 11:45 pm, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to a report of an individual that had been shot at Motel 6 located at 2076 Cedar Creek Road. 

 

The first responding officers to the scene located a male subject who had been shot near the rear of the motel complex.  The male subject was immediately transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and is listed in critical condition.

 

Detectives are actively investigating the shooting and additional information will be released as it becomes available.  The name of the victim is currently being withheld until his immediate family can be notified.
