Detectives Seek Person of Interest in Homicide Investigation  

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a person and vehicle of interest in connection with the homicide of Karon Howard, which occurred on April 8, 2018, at the intersection of Cliffdale Road and Reilly Road.

 

Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit have obtained surveillance images of a person and vehicle of interest in this case and are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying them. The person of interest is believed to have information pertinent to the investigation and FPD Detectives are encouraging the person depicted and any occupants of the vehicle to contact Detectives. The vehicle is described as a 2013 or newer model Ford Fusion, red or burgundy in color.

Update to Shooting Investigation

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department have released the name of the victim from shooting that occurred in the early morning hours of April 8, 2018, at the intersection of Cliffdale Road and Reilly Road.

 

The victim has been identified as Karon Howard (B/M, 18 years of age) of 200 block of Tennessee Walker Drive, Raeford. Howard who was previously listed in critical condition as a result of the shooting, has succumbed to his injuries.

 

Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit are investigating this as a homicide. Detectives are requesting for anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident to contact them. Crimestoppers if offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest in this case.

Shooting Investigation

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – On Sunday, April 8, 2018 at approximately 12:18 am, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to a report of a shooting at the intersection of Cliffdale Rd and Reilly Road.

The preliminary investigation revealed that officers located a male subject inside of a vehicle, in the roadway, at the intersection of Cliffdale and Reilly Road with a gunshot wound. The male subject was immediately transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he is listed in critical condition.  The name of the victim is currently being withheld, until his immediate family has been notified.

Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Aggravated Assault Unit are actively investigating the shooting and additional information will be released as it becomes available.  The investigation does not suggest that this was a random incident.
