Detectives Request Assistance Identifying Motor Vehicle Theft Suspect

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – On June 8, 2018 at approximately 9:09 pm, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to the Kangaroo gas station located at 736 S. Reilly Road in reference to a report of a stolen motor vehicle.

 

The investigation revealed that the victim left a black 2016 Toyota Camry, with NC Registration TPV8590, unsecured, with the keys in the ignition, and the vehicle running, while the victim went inside the store. While the victim was inside the store a suspect entered the unsecured motor vehicle and then stole the motor vehicle.

 

Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Property Crimes Unit have obtained surveillance photos from Kangaroo gas station of the suspect and are requesting the public’s assistance identifying him. The suspect is described as a white male, dark hair in his mid-late 20’s, wearing a black shirt and tan shorts.

Detectives have not recovered the black 2016 Toyota Camry, with NC Registration TPV8590 and are seeking the public’s assistance in doing so.

Detectives and Crime Prevention Specialists encourage all citizens to secure their vehicles when you are going to be separated from it.  It is important to turn off your vehicle, remove valuables, including firearms, from your vehicle, and do not leave items in plain sight. Crime Prevention is a shared responsibility and we must all do our part to prevent crime.
