Detectives Seek Information in Death Investigation

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit are requesting anyone with information regarding the death of an adult female, which occurred inside of a residence along the 700 block of York Road and was discovered after a well-being check on Wednesday, August 22, 2018, come forward.

 

Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of an adult female and have discovered suspicious circumstances surrounding her death. At this point in the investigation detectives are not releasing the circumstances deemed suspicious as this remains an active ongoing investigation.

 

The deceased adult female has been transported to the North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine her identification, cause of death, and manner of death.

 

Detectives are requesting the public’s assistance locating Michael John Moore Sr., (B/M, 44 years of age) of the 700 block of York Road. Moore Sr. is believed to have information pertinent to this ongoing investigation.

Moore Sr. was last known to be operating a black 2009 Nissan Maxima with Maryland registration plate 06330CH. The Maxima has a black left tail light with tape on it. Moore Sr. is believed to have been in possession of the Maxima for the last three (3) weeks and detectives are requesting anyone who believes they have seen Moore Sr. or the vehicle during the last three (3) weeks contact them.

Death Investigation

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – On Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at approximately 6:15 pm, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to a residence along the 700 block of York Road reference a well-being check request.

 

Upon the arrival of Fayetteville Police Department Officers, entry was gained to the residence and a female was located unresponsive inside of the residence. The female was pronounced deceased on scene and will be sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine a cause of death.   

 

Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit are actively investigating the death and additional information will be released as it becomes available.

 

The name of the victim is currently being withheld until her immediate family has been notified.
