Crime of the Week

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – On Sunday, September 9, 2018 at approximately 6:34 am, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to 2800 block of Gillespie Street reference a report of a business robbery at Murphy’s Express.

 

The preliminary investigation revealed two (2) male suspects entered the business while a third suspect remained outside with a vehicle. The two (2) suspects who entered the business demanded money from the clerk while displaying a handgun, stole cigarettes and cigars, and then fled the scene along with the third suspect in the waiting vehicle. The vehicle being operated by the suspects was located disabled a short distance away from the scene. The vehicle had previously been reported stolen by the vehicle owner to the Lumberton Police Department.

 

The first suspect is described as a black male, 20-25 years of age, 5’11” in height, stocky build, brown eyes, short dreadlocks, wearing a gray hoodie, dark pants, and purple shoes.

 

The second suspect is described as a black male, 20-25 years of age, 5’08” in height, thin build, dreadlocks to his jawline, wearing an orange hoodie and gray athletic shorts.

 

The third suspect is described as a black male, 20-25 years of age, medium build, low cut hair possibly a short afro, wearing a white shirt with a design on it and dark jeans.

 

Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Robbery Unit have obtained an image from the store’s surveillance system of the suspects and are requesting the public’s assistance identifying them.
