Update to Homicide Investigation

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit have identified the victim of the shooting and homicide which occurred along the 6300 block of Raeford Road on Monday, September 24, 2018.

 

The victim has been identified as Justin L. Williams (B/M, 32 years of age), of the 6300 block of Raeford Road. The 14 month old child inside the vehicle at the time of the incident is in good condition.

 

Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit are continue to actively investigate the homicide and request anyone with information contact them.

Homicide Investigation

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – On Monday, September 24, 2018 at approximately 9:32 pm, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to 6300 block of Raeford Road reference a report of a shooting.

Officers arrived in the area and located a crashed vehicle with a male victim and child inside near the intersection of Bingham Drive and McDougal Drive. The male victim suffered an apparent gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased on scene. The child was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and is currently listed in good condition. The name of the victims are currently being withheld pending next of kin notifications.

Fayetteville / Cumberland County Crimestoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information submitted to Crimestoppers that leads to an arrest.

Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit are actively investigating the homicide and request anyone with information contact them.
