Suspects Arrested for Bank Robbery

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department, with assistance from the Fayetteville Police Department’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team, Federal Probation and Parole, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, have arrested two (2) suspects for the robbery of First Citizen’s Bank, which occurred along the 100 block of Broadfoot Avenue on Monday, September 24, 2018.

 

Todd D. Williams

 

Todd D. Williams (B/M, 27 years of age), of the 400 block of Culloden Place in Hope Mills, has been arrested and charged with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and Conspiracy to Commit Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon. Williams is currently being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center on a $900,000 secured bond.

 

Benny B Thomas

 

Benny B. Thomas Jr. (B/M, 35 years of age), of the 800 block of Cypress Church Road in Cameron, has been arrested and charged with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and Conspiracy to Commit Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon. Thomas Jr. is currently being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center on a $250,000 secured bond.

 

The Fayetteville Police Department thanks Federal Probation and Parole and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for the assistance they provided during this investigation.

 

There is no additional information to release.

 

 Bank Robbery

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – On Monday, September 24, 2018 at approximately 12:29 pm, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to First Citizen’s Bank, located along the 100 block of Broadfoot Avenue, reference a reported business robbery.

 

The preliminary investigation revealed a male entered the business armed with a rifle and demanded money from a teller. The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of money and then fled the area.

 

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5’08 in height, medium build, wearing a white plastic mask, gray hooded sweatshirt, and gray sweatpants.

 

Detectives have obtained still images from the bank’s surveillance system and are requesting the public’s assistance identifying the suspect.

Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Robbery Unit are actively investigating the robbery and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
