Shooting Investigation

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – On Thursday, September 27, 2018 at approximately 6:42 pm, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to Fayetteville Fire Station 12 on Hope Mills Road in reference to a subject who arrived at the Fire Station with a gunshot wound.

Officers were simultaneously dispatched to the 5000 block of Birch Road reference a report of a residential burglary in which the suspect had reportedly assaulted a female inside of the residence, and an occupant of the residence fired a gunshot at the suspect.  

When Fayetteville Police Department Officers arrived on scene they located a female victim who had been physically assaulted. The female victim sustained non-life threatening injuries as a result of the physical assault.

The male subject who was shot was transported an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The names of all parties involved are currently being withheld until immediate family members have been notified.

Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Aggravated Assault Unit are currently investigating the shooting and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
