Shooting Investigation

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – On Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at approximately 3:07 pm, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to the 1000 block of Wood Creek Drive in reference to a report of a subject who had been shot.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a subject called the Fayetteville 911 Communications Center and stated someone in the apartment had been shot. When FPD Officers arrived on scene they located a female victim suffering from a gunshot wound inside the apartment. The victim was pronounced deceased on scene.

A person of interest is currently being interviewed by Homicide detectives.

Detectives with the FPD’s Homicide Unit are currently investigating the shooting and additional information will be released as it becomes available.

The name of the victim is currently being withheld until her immediate family can be notified.
