Crimestoppers Tip Leads to Arrest of Suspect wanted by ATF

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – An anonymous tip made to the Fayetteville / Cumberland County Crimestoppers Program has led to the arrest of a suspect wanted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) and by the Fayetteville Police Department on weapons violations.

 A tip submitted to the Fayetteville / Cumberland County Crimestoppers Program provided information from an anonymous tipster regarding the whereabouts of Tevon M. Fayson (B/M, 23 years of age), of the 1700 block of Torrey Drive. The tip information was forwarded to the Fayetteville Police Department’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT).

The Fayetteville Police Department’s VCAT investigated the tip and as a result, took Fayson into custody at a residence along the 7700 block of Cottonwood Avenue without incident.

Fayson has been charged with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Conspiracy to Commit Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, 2nd Degree Kidnapping, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Fayson was also served with two (2) Orders for Arrest for Breaking/Entering a Motor Vehicle.

Fayson is currently being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center on a $225,000 secured bond.

The Fayetteville Police Department thanks Fayetteville / Cumberland County Crimestoppers and the anonymous tipster for assistance with this investigation.

The anonymous tipster will be eligible for a cash reward from the Fayetteville / Cumberland County Crimestoppers program for the anonymous information they submitted that resulted in the outcome of this investigation.
