Update to Homicide Investigation

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit have arrested the suspect wanted for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon in relation to the homicide of Joseph Gore, which occurred along the 5600 block of Mesa Court on January 10, 2019.

 

Antwon Carlisle

 

Antwon L. Carlisle has been arrested and charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Carlisle was taken to the Cumberland County Detention Center where he was processed and he received an unsecured bond.

 

This remains an ongoing investigation and Detectives request anyone with information regarding the homicide of Joseph Gore contact them.

Update to Homicide Investigation

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit have identified the victim of the fatal shooting which occurred along the 5600 block of Mesa Court on January 10, 2019.

 

The victim has been identified as Joseph Gore (BM, 53 years of age), of the 5600 block of Mesa Court.

 

Detectives are currently seeking information on the whereabouts of Antwon Carlisle (B/M, 30 years of age), of the 200 block of Lieber Street. Carlisle has been charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Detectives encourage Carlisle to peacefully surrender to authorities.

Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances of the fatal shooting and the investigation is ongoing.

Homicide Investigation

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – On Thursday, January 10, 2019 at approximately 7:28 pm, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to the 5600 block of Mesa Drive reference a report of a shooting.

Officers arrived in the area and located a male victim with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in critical condition, where he succumbed to injuries sustained during the shooting. The name of the victim is currently being withheld pending next of kin notification.

The homicide does not appear to be random at this point in the investigation. Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit are actively investigating the homicide and request anyone with information contact them.

Fayetteville / Cumberland County Crimestoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information submitted to Crimestoppers that leads to an arrest.
