Update to Traffic Fatality / Road Closure

(Fayetteville, NC) – Officers with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Traffic Unit have identified the two (2) pedestrians involved in the fatal vehicle crash which occurred on Monday, May 13, 2019 along the 3200 block of Bragg Blvd.

The pedestrians have been identified as Keith C. Jackson (W/M, 31 years of age) and Donna D. Jackson (W/F, 42 years of age), both of the 5500 block of Aberdeen Place in Fayetteville. Keith Jackson was pronounced deceased on scene by medical personnel. Donna Jackson was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.

The preliminary investigation has revealed a white colored box truck type vehicle with no visible markings left the right side of the roadway, struck both pedestrians, and then fled the scene.

Bragg Blvd. reopened to traffic at approximately 2:00 pm on Monday, May 13, 2019.

Traffic Fatality / Road Closure

(Fayetteville, NC) – On Monday, May 13, 2019 at approximately 11:32 am, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to a vehicle crash involving a vehicle and two (2) pedestrians along the 3200 block of Bragg Blvd.

Upon the arrival of officers and medical personnel, one of the pedestrians was pronounced deceased on scene. The second pedestrian was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.

The identities of all parties are currently being withheld until immediate family members can be notified.

Outbound Bragg Blvd. is currently closed to traffic between Cain Road and William Clark Road, as the Fayetteville Police Department’s Traffic Unit is on scene conducting the investigation.

Motorists traveling outbound on Bragg Blvd. are encouraged to utilize Cain Road, to Pamalee Drive, to Bragg Blvd. as an alternate route until the roadway can be reopened. Motorists should expect delays along Bragg Blvd. and the detour route.
