Detectives Request Assistance Identifying Suspect

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Aggravated Assault Unit are requesting the public’s assistance identifying the suspect responsible for the stabbing of Jesse Locklear, which occurred near the intersection of Maiden Lane and Ray Avenue on Monday, May 27, 2019.

Detectives have obtained a surveillance image of the suspect and are requesting anyone with information contact them. The suspect has been described as a black male, approximately 5’10”, stocky build, with a gap between his upper front teeth.

Update to Stabbing Investigation

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Aggravated Assault Unit have identified the victim of the stabbing which occurred on Monday, May 27, 2019 near the intersection of Maiden Lane and Ray Avenue.

 

The victim has been identified as Jesse K. Locklear (W/M, 32 years of age), no address available. Locklear remains at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in critical condition.

 

The preliminary investigation has revealed the victim and suspect were known to one another prior to the incident taking place. Detectives are currently working to obtain available surveillance video in the area to assist in the identification of the suspect.

Stabbing Investigation

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – On Monday, May 27, 2019, at approximately 6:41 pm, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to the area of Maiden Lane and Ray Avenue reference a report of a stabbing.

Officers arrived on scene and located one (1) victim suffering from stab wounds. Medical personnel were summoned to the scene and transported the victim to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he currently remains in critical condition.

The name of the victim is currently being withheld pending next of kin notification.

Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Aggravated Assault Unit are actively investigating the stabbing and request anyone with information to contact them.
