One Suspect Arrested, One Suspect Wanted for Homicide of Michael S. Beale

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit, with the assistance of the department’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT), have charged and arrested one (1) suspect and are seeking information on the whereabouts of one (1) suspect in connection with the homicide of Michael S. Beale, which occurred along the 2100 block of Henry Street on Wednesday, June 26, 2019.

 

Jonathan L Smith

 

Detectives have charged and arrested Jonathan L. Smith (B/M, 40 years of age), of the 1900 block of Bridger Street. Smith has been charged with 1st Degree Murder, Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, and Felony Conspiracy for his involvement in the shooting death of Michael S. Beale. Smith is currently being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center without bond.

 

Marcus A. Guion

 

Detectives continue to seek information concerning the whereabouts of a second suspect, Marcus A. Guion (B/M, 30 years of age). Detectives have outstanding warrants for the arrest of Guion charging him with 1st Degree Murder, Robbery with a Deadly Weapon, and Felony Conspiracy.

 

Guion is considered armed and dangerous. Detectives continue to encourage Guion to surrender peacefully to authorities. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Guion is asked to immediately call 911.

Update to Homicide Investigation

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit have identified the victim of the homicide that occurred along the 2100 block of Henry Street on Wednesday, June 26, 2019.

 

The victim has been identified as Michael S. Beale (W/M, 48 years of age), of the 2100 block of Henry Street. The circumstances surrounding the homicide remain under investigation.

 

The Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit is actively investigating the homicide and are requesting anyone with information make contact with them.

 

The Fayetteville / Cumberland County Crimestoppers program is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information submitted to Crimestoppers that leads to an arrest.

Homicide Investigation

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – On Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at approximately 11:33 pm, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to the 2100 block of Henry Street reference a report of a shooting.

Officers arrived on scene and located one (1) victim suffering from gunshot wound(s). Officers summoned medical personnel to the scene and the victim was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in critical condition, where he then succumbed to injuries sustained during the shooting.

The name of the victim is currently being withheld pending next of kin notification.

Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit are actively investigating the homicide and request anyone with information contact them.
