Suspect Wanted for Bank Robbery

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Robbery Unit have obtained warrants charging the previous person of interest with robbery in connection with the robbery of Wells Fargo Bank, located along the 4900 block of Morganton Road, which occurred on Friday, July 26, 2019.

 

Alston

 

Detectives have obtained warrants charging Demitrius E. Alston (B/M, 29 years of age) with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Felony Possession of Stolen Goods, and Conspiracy to Commit Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon.

 

Detectives are encouraging Alston to surrender peacefully to authorities. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Alston should immediately call 911.

 

Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Robbery Unit are actively investigating the robbery and additional information will be released as it becomes available.

Bank Robbery

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – On Friday, July 26, 2019, at approximately 10:15 am, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to Wells Fargo Bank, located along the 4900 block of Morganton Road, reference a reported robbery.

 

The preliminary investigation revealed two (2) suspects entered the business; both armed with a handgun, and demanded money from the tellers. The suspects obtained an undisclosed amount of money and then fled the area.

 

One of the suspects was described as:

  • Middle aged black male
  • Approximately 6’1”,
  • Approximately 200 lbs.
  • Dreadlocks
  • All gray clothing
  • Sunglasses
  • Surgical Mask

 

The second suspect is described as:

  • Black male
  • Approximately 6’00”
  • Dark blue cargo pants
  • Gray hoodie
  • Light gray tennis shoes
  • Surgical Mask

 

The suspects were last seen operating an older dark colored passenger car at the time of the robbery which has since been recovered abandoned at a nearby business.

 

Detectives have obtained still images from a surveillance system and are requesting the public’s assistance identifying the suspects.

Detectives have identified an individual who may have information regarding the robbery. Detectives have been unable to make contact with Demitrius E. Alston (B/M, 29 years of age) and are encouraging Alston to contact them. Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Alston are encouraged to contact the Fayetteville Police Department Robbery Unit.

The Fayetteville / Cumberland County Crimestoppers Program is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information submitted directly to Crimestoppers that leads to an arrest in this case.
