Traffic Crash / Road Closure

(Fayetteville, NC) – On Thursday, January 2, 2020, at approximately 5:22 am, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to a vehicle crash involving a pedestrian along Raeford Road near 71st School Road.

Upon the arrival of officers and medical personnel, the pedestrian was prounounced deceased.

East bound Raeford Road is currently closed between 71st School Road and Strickland Bridge Road as the Fayetteville Police Department’s Traffic Unit is on scene conducting the investigation.

The identities of those involved are currently being withheld until immediate family members can be notified.

Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area and seek an alternate route until the roadway can be reopened. Motorists traveling East on Raeford Road will utilize Graham Road to Strickland Bridge Road.
