Suspect Arrested for Kidnapping

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) along with the assistance of the Duplin County Sheriff’s Office were able to arrest Wani Thomas.

Thomas is charged with First Degree Kidnapping (2 counts), First Degree Burglary, and Assault by Pointing a Gun (2 Counts).  Thomas was arrested in Duplin County without incident and was transported to Cumberland County where he is currently being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center under no bond.

 

There is no additional information to release.

 

Update to Missing Persons

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department have located both Jasmine Livermore and Nathaniel Thomas. They were located safe and are no longer considered missing.

 

Wani Thomas has not been located and is currently wanted for his involvement with the kidnapping which occurred earlier today. Thomas is wanted for First Degree Kidnapping (2 counts), First Degree Burglary, and Assault by Pointing a Gun (2 Counts).

 

Wani Thomas is considered armed and dangerous and his whereabouts are currently unknown. If anyone has information regarding the whereabouts of Thomas, they are asked to immediately contact 911.

 

Missing Persons / Amber Alert

           

(Fayetteville, NC) – On Monday, January 20, 2020, at approximately 1:12 am, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to a residence along the 4900 block of Tangerine Drive in reference a reported home invasion and kidnapping.

 

The preliminary investigation revealed Wani Thomas (B/M, 24 years of age), broke into the residence and forced an adult female, Jasmine Livermore, and a one-month-old male, Nathaniel Thomas, into an unknown vehicle by gunpoint.

 

Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department are requesting the public’s assistance locating both Jasmine Livermore and Nathaniel Thomas.

  • Black Female
  • 20 years of age
  • 5’03” in height
  • 110 pounds
  • Last Seen Wearing
    • Grey Pants
    • Brown Shirt
    • Camouflage Jacket
    • Gold Bonnet on her head

Nathaniel Thomas is described as a:                        

  • Black Male
  • One month old
  • Approximately 8 pounds
  • Birthmark on his left leg
  • Last Seen Wearing
    • Grey Pants
    • White T-Shirt
    • White Socks
    • Wrapped in a blue blanket with white and grey circles

Wani Thomas is considered armed and dangerous. Detectives are requesting anyone with information to contact them.
