Suspect in Custody for Multiple Felony Sex Offenses

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – Desmond D. Newton (B/M, 30 years of age) who was wanted for multiple felony sex offenses has been arrested.

 

Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Youth Services Unit requested the assistance of the Greensboro Police Department after receiving a tip regarding Newton’s whereabouts in Greensboro, North Carolina.

 

Officers with the Greensboro Police Department were able to arrest Newton earlier today without incident. Newton was arrested on outstanding warrants for two (2) counts of Statutory Sex Offense by an Adult, two (2) counts of Indecent Liberties with a Minor, two (2) counts of Crimes against Nature, and two (2) counts of Sexual Activity by a Substitute Parent.

 

Newton is currently being held in the Guilford County Detention Center under a $300,000 secured bond. A mugshot of Newton is not available.

 

There is no additional information to release.

 

Suspect Wanted for Multiple Felony Sex Offenses

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Youth Services Unit are requesting the public’s assistance locating Desmond D. Newton (B/M, 30 years of age), who is wanted for two (2) counts of Statutory Sex Offense by an Adult, two (2) counts of Indecent Liberties with a Minor, and two (2) counts of Crimes Against Nature.

Newton is considered armed and dangerous and anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is encouraged to call 911 immediately.

 

The crimes occurred during January of 2020 with a ten (10) year old juvenile victim. The victim and suspect are known to one another.
