Detectives Seek Victims of Unlicensed Medical Procedures

(Fayetteville, NC) – On Friday, March 13, 2020, detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department conducted a search warrant on a business who was performing medical procedures without a license. Detectives are attempting to identify any potential victims who may have had an adverse reaction to a procedure performed at the business.

The North Carolina Medical Board received a complaint that the owner/operator of Claudia’s Nails & Spa located at 2018-118A Fort Bragg Road, was performing various medical procedures without being properly licensed. The Medical Board forwarded the information to the Fayetteville Police Department for investigation.

The owner/operator was injecting clients with “Botox” and “Kybella”, performing medical laser procedures (such as tattoo removal), and performing permanent makeup procedures without a license. The owner did obtain a permit for permanent make-up procedures on February 12, 2020.

Clients who have suffered any adverse reactions to any of the procedures described at the location are urged to contact detectives. Contact should be made with detective S. Valdez at (910) 433-1041, (910) 433-1553, or by email at svaldez@ci.fay.nc.us
