All suspects, and persons charged with a crime, are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Persons of interest are believed to have information relating to a case, and have not been charged unless stated otherwise.

 

Update to Homicide Investigation – Suspect Arrested, Suspect Sought

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit have made an arrest, and charged another, in the shooting death of Omar White that occurred on February 9, 2021 along Alamance Road.

 

Juan Maddox

 

Juan Maddox (B/M, 20 years of age), of the 600 block of Banner Elk Drive, has been charged with First Degree Murder. He was arrested on February 12, 2021 and is currently in the Cumberland County Detention Center under no bond.

 

Myshon Jackson

 

Myshon Jackson (B/M, 20 years of age), of Broadway, NC, has also been charged with First Degree Murder. Detectives are seeking the public’s assistance locating Jackson.

Update to Homicide Investigation – Victim Identified

 

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit have identified the victim that was shot this afternoon along the 4800 block of Alamance Road.

 

The victim has been identified as Omar White (B/M, 26 years of age) of Virginia; his next of kin has been notified.

 

The shooting remains under investigation and additional information will be released as it becomes available.

Shooting – Homicide Investigation

 

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – On February 9, 2021 at 11:46 am, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department were dispatched to a shooting along the 4800 block of Alamance Road.

 

The preliminary investigation revealed an adult male victim was shot multiple times in the parking lot near a vehicle. He was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries. His identity is currently being withheld pending next of kin notification.
