Over the past 35 years, something's been happening in the greater Fayetteville area to help stem the tide of crime.

Since we initiated the Fayetteville / Cumberland Crime Stoppers organization, citizens' tips have led to more than 4,491 arrests, and the recovery of millions of dollars in drugs and stolen property.

Crime Stoppers is a proven, effective method of helping law enforcement authorities bring criminals to justice. Nationwide, the conviction rate for arrests made with the assistance of Crime Stoppers tips is more than 98%. It works because citizens provide the police with information that can lead to the arrest and conviction of crime offenders.

There are two important aspects of this unique program. First, it provides an incentive for people with the information to come forth by offering cash rewards. In addition, Crime Stoppers protects their safety by assuring the complete anonymity of anyone who calls with a tip.

Locally, Fayetteville / Cumberland Crime Stoppers, Inc. is a community program operated by citizens like you, who want to take an active role in fighting crime in our area. Our 15-member Board of Directors administers the Crime Stoppers program, in cooperation with the Fayetteville Police Department, the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office, Spring Lake Police Department, and Hope Mills Police Department.

Crime Stoppers is wholly supported by your donations - of money, time, goods, and services. These donations come from individuals, businesses, professional associations, clubs, and social groups, as well as the Fayetteville Police Department.

Your monetary contributions are especially vital to Crime Stoppers because they fund the cash reward incentives. In fact, since the Fayetteville / Cumberland program began, we've awarded more than $417,000.00 to people whose tips were instrumental in solving crimes and getting back property worth millions of dollars.
