Letter to Residents

Dear Residents,

With the help of business leaders from our city, we were able to bring the concept of Crime Stoppers to Fayetteville / Cumberland County in late 1984. Since the original Crime Stoppers' meeting at the home of Fritz Healy, the program has successfully grown beyond our expectations. Since its inception, we have provided information resulting in the arrest of more than 4,491 felons, recovered more than $8.2 million in property and narcotics, and have paid out over $400,000.00 in rewards. We owe our success to the many citizens and businesses whom have volunteered their time and money to this productive program. The City of Fayetteville also has provided a full-time coordinator, along with staff support to manage the program. In addition, since the inception of the program, the City of Fayetteville has contributed $3,000 per year to facilitate rewards.

Thank you, everyone.
