Update to Homicide Investigation – Suspect Arrested
(Fayetteville, NC) – Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit have identified and arrested a suspect involved in the homicide of Justin Ellis Jackson that occurred on June 2, 2021 along Milton Drive.
Calvin Wayne Locklear (I/M, 32 years of age) of the 300 block of Hidden Pond Drive, has been charged with First Degree Murder, Attempted First Degree Murder, Assault with intent to Kill, First Degree Kidnapping, Attempted Robbery, Conspiracy, and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. He was processed into the Cumberland County Jail and received no bond.
Locklear was taken into custody on the evening of June 23, 2021 in Lumberton, NC without incident. The Fayetteville Police Department would like to thank the Lumberton Police Department for their assistance with this case.
Update to Homicide Investigation – Detectives Seek Assistance
(Fayetteville, NC) – Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit are requesting assistance identifying a suspect involved in the homicide of Justin Ellis Jackson that occurred on June 2, 2021 along Milton Drive.

Detectives need assistance identifying the bald, B/M, suspect wearing the face mask and black t-shirt with a “BROKE” logo.
The other suspect shown in the video, with the yellow shoes, has been identified as James Edward Corbett. Corbett was transported to a hospital in Hoke County where he was pronounced deceased after being shot during the incident.

Update to Homicide Investigation
(Fayetteville, NC) – Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit have identified the deceased persons involved in the homicide investigation that occurred on June 2, 2021 along Milton Drive.
Justin Ellis Jackson (W/M, 33 years of age) of the 6300 block of Milton Drive, was pronounced deceased on scene. His next of kin has been notified.
James Edward Corbett (B/M, 33 years of age), of Fayetteville, was taken to a hospital in Hoke County where he succumbed to his injuries. It was determined that he was involved in the shooting at the residence.
The juvenile (W/F, 17 years of age), that was shot at the residence has been released from the hospital in stable condition.
The shooting remains under investigation and additional information will be released as it becomes available.

Homicide Investigation
(Fayetteville, NC) – On June 2, 2021 at 8:05 pm, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department were dispatched to a residence along the 6300 block of Milton Drive in reference to reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim, and a juvenile female victim that had been shot. The adult male victim was pronounced deceased on scene. The juvenile was transported to an area hospital with a non-life threatening injury.
The preliminary investigation revealed at least two suspects entered the residence and began shooting. The victim, also armed with a firearm, returned fire.
A short time later, another adult male was dropped off at a hospital in a neighboring county that had been shot. He was pronounced deceased after arrival. Detectives are working to determine if this person is related to this shooting on Milton Drive.
Members of the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit are investigating this shooting. This does not appear to be a random incident.
