Update to Homicide Investigation
(Fayetteville, NC) – Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit have located the Ford Raptor pickup truck that was previously being sought in the homicide that occurred in the parking lot of the Baymont Ramada (1707 Owen Drive) on March 19, 2022.
Detectives are still seeking assistance locating this Jeep Patriot SUV displaying NC registration plate RDP1513. The rear window of the Jeep was shot out during the incident.

Detectives Seek Assistance Locating Vehicles of Interest in Homicide Investigation
(Fayetteville, NC) – Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit are requesting the public’s assistance locating vehicles of interest in the shooting which occurred in the parking lot of the Baymont Ramada (1707 Owen Drive) on March 19, 2022.
The vehicles of interest are a Ford Raptor pickup truck displaying NC registration plate 81D5DV, and a Jeep Patriot SUV displaying NC registration plate RDP1513. The rear window of the Jeep was shot out during the incident.

Suspects Arrested for Aggravated Felony Assault
(Fayetteville, NC) – Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department have determined the aggravated assault that occurred on March 19, 2022 at the Exxon (1717 Owen Drive) was related to the ongoing homicide investigation that occurred later that evening at the Baymont Ramada (1707 Owen Drive). Gang Detectives have charged and arrested two subjects in relation to the aggravated assault at the Exxon at 1717 Owen Drive.
Initially, Officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded in reference to a disturbance call. Upon arrival, it was determined that a possible assault had occurred in the parking lot of the establishment, however, no one involved in the incident was on scene upon the officer’s arrival.
Upon further investigation into the incident, it was confirmed that an assault had occurred, which resulted in serious injuries to the victim. The incident was determined to be between rival motorcycle gang members. Two suspects have been charged and arrested by the Fayetteville Police Department’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Unit and Gang Unit for Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury and Felony Conspiracy.
Laperriere
Dalton Emmanuel Laperriere (W/M, 26 years of age) of the 2400 block of Government Road, Clayton, NC, has been charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury and Felony Conspiracy. Laperriere received a $5000.00 unsecured bond.
Lawing
Kerry Helms Lawing (W/M, 49 years of age), of the 2300 block of Wilmington Highway, has been charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury and Felony Conspiracy. Lawing received a $25,000.00 secured bond and currently remains in the Cumberland County Jail.
The investigation into both incidents remains ongoing and is a collaborative effort between local and federal agencies. Detectives are utilizing numerous investigative tools to assist them with their investigation, including over 150 surveillance systems that are located throughout the city of Fayetteville.

Update to Homicide Investigation
(Fayetteville, NC) – Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit continue to seek assistance locating witnesses to the shooting which occurred in the parking lot of the Baymont Ramada (1707 Owen Drive) on March 19, 2022.
The investigation has determined the shooting occurred during a confrontation between the Hells Angels, Red Devils, Infamous Ryders, and La Familia motorcycle gang organizations.
Detectives are reviewing hundreds of hours of private security camera footage, license plate reader data, and city owned cameras. Witnesses or anyone with specific information are asked to contact the detective below or submit an anonymous tip through Crimestoppers.

Update to Homicide Investigation
(Fayetteville, NC) – Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit have identified the deceased victims of the shooting which occurred in the parking lot of the Baymont Ramada (1707 Owen Drive) on March 19, 2022.
Keith Allan Dickey (W/M, 37 years of age) of Lumber Bridge, NC, succumbed to his injuries at an area hospital. His next of kin have been notified.
William Franklin Davis Sr (W/M, 42 years of age) of Fayetteville, NC, was pronounced deceased on the scene of the shooting. His next of kin have been notified.
Donald Dillenbeck (W/M, 49 years of age) of Vestal, NY, succumbed to his injuries at an area hospital. His next of kin have been notified.
Three (3) other gunshot victims are still being treated at area hospitals. Detectives have determined the shooting is not random. Detectives continue to actively investigate the case.

(Fayetteville, NC) – A third victim of the shooting which occurred in the parking lot of the Baymont Ramada has succumbed to his injuries. A fifth shooting victim has been located and is being treated at an area hospital.

Shooting Investigation
(Fayetteville, NC) – On March 19, 2022, at 8:51 pm, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to a reported shooting in the parking lot of the Baymont Ramada located at 1707 Owen Drive.
Officers and medical personnel arrived on the scene and located four (4) victims who had been shot. One adult male was pronounced deceased on the scene. The other gunshot victims were either transported via ambulance or in a personal vehicle to an area hospital. A second adult male has since succumbed to his injuries at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. The third and fourth victim both have life-threatening injuries
. The identity of all of the victims is currently being withheld.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting are under investigation by members of the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit.
