Update to Homicide Investigation

Update to Homicide Investigation

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – The victim of the homicide that occurred on May 13, 2022, along the 5700 block of Yadkin Road has been identified.

 

The victim, a 17 year old juvenile of Fayetteville, was pronounced deceased at Cape Fear Valley Hospital. Due to his age, his identity will not be released. His next of kin has been notified.

Shooting/Homicide Investigation

           

(Fayetteville, NC) – On May 13, 2022, at 7:41 pm, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to a reported shooting in the parking lot of 5709 Yadkin Road.

 

Officers arrived on the scene and located a male victim who had been shot multiple times. EMS arrived on scene and transported the victim to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, but he succumbed to his injuries. The victim’s identification is pending next of kin notification

 

The circumstances surrounding the shooting are under investigation by members of the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit.
